Benny Cavender, 85, of Mayfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at Baptist Health Paducah.
He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Mayfield. He was a retired employee of Dunlop, a former employee of Woodmen Life, and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Lynn Cavender of Florence, Alabama; one stepdaughter, Debbie Jenkins of Florence, Alabama; three stepsons, Ronnie of Hartselle, Alabama, Donnie Lear of Mayfield, and Lonnie Lear of Benton; four grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Black; a stepbrother, Bill Bennett; his father, Virgil Cavender; and his stepfather and mother, Goble and Sue Goodwin Bennett.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Mayfield Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Ronnie Lear officiated Entombment followed.
