Floyd Thompson Obituary

The family of Floyd Thompson, or "Spike" as he was affectionately known by so many, is sad to share the news of his peaceful passing on September 23, 2023. Spike is survived by his loving wife of 71 yrs, Jean Karlsson Thompson, & their four married children ~ Karl, Allan, Keith & Lynda, as well as 9 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild. Spike worked at Longwood Gardens for 4 decades & was involved in many community organizations & traditions. Among his favorites were the Unionville Community Fair, & the Rough & Tumble Tractor Museum in Lancaster. Spike/Dad/PopPop loved hard work, great jokes, helping people, & "summertime eating" from his expansive garden. He will be dearly missed. The family expresses immense thanks to Beth & Keith Thompson for the last five years of care given to our dad/PopPop in their Connecticut home. Private services to follow.
