Carolyn Watkins Obituary

Carolyn Ann Watkins, age 69, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, departed this life Monday morning, October 14, 2024 at her home.

Carolyn was born July 31, 1955 in Somerville, the daughter of the late Anderson Watkins, Sr. and Neshia Taylor Watkins. She was employed at McKnight Clinic in Somerville as a referral clerk for 16 years and was a member of Mt. Olive CME Church near Somerville for many years. Carolyn loved shopping and dancing and will be remembered for her sense or humor and adoration for her family.

Miss Watkins is survived by her daughter, Kela Watkins of Minneapolis, MI; her son, Conover Watkins of Cordova, TN; her brother, Arthur Watkins (Freddie) of Memphis, TN; her granddaughter, Ayesha Watkins of Brownsville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Malaysia Watkins, C'Kyron Person and Cedarian Person, Jr. all of Brownsville, TN; and many well-loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Ida Mae Dodson, Margaret Jean Watkins, Vera Goodman and Ruby Bradford and four brothers, James Watkins, Anderson Watkins, Jr., Allen Watkins and Robert T. Watkins.

Graveside Services for Miss Watkins will be at 2 P.M. Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64 with Pastor Jon Isom of Douglas CME Church in Stanton, Tennessee, officiating.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Kendrick Parson, Roderick Parsons, Napoleon Watkins, Kelvin Parsons, Cassius Watkins and Jerome Watkins.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Mt. Olive CME Church, 7240 Old Brownsville Road, Somerville, TN 38068.
