Cedar Bluff, MS - Doris Jeannette Scott, 78, passed away on December 8, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. D. Jeannette Scott was born on May 24, 1946, in West Point, to the late James Leslie and Ellen White Webber. Jeannette was a graduate of Clay High School. It was after graduating from high school and during the raising of her children that Mrs. Jeannette realized that she needed to further her education to better herself to be able to provide better for she and her family. Therefore, Mrs. Jeannette enrolled in the nursing program at Itawamba Community College. Mrs. Jeannette worked steadfastly and tirelessly. It took her working both day and night, raising her children, and attending school full time, but Mrs. Jeannette ultimately received her Associate's Degree in Nursing. Upon obtaining her nursing degree, Mrs. Jeannette worked a number of years as a registered nurse for North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. She was a member of New Montpelier Baptist Church. She loved her Bible Study Group, but most importantly, she loved the Lord. She enjoyed church singing's, listening to Elvis, traveling and good food, especially her "sweets." She was a caregiver and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Smith.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry King officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery in Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Tanya Scott West (Rubel) of Hamilton: three sons, Eddie Scott (Lorie), Terry Scott (Mechelle), and Shane Scott, all of Cedar Bluff: nine grandchildren, James Scott (Maci) of Cedar Bluff, Crystal S. Faulkner (Steven) of Dahlonega, Georgia, Bradley Scott of Cedar Bluff, Brooke S. Kinard of Cedar Bluff, Brandon Scott (Mary Ellen) of Cedar Bluff, Cliff Wooten of Texas, Katelyn Johnson of Hamilton, and Ethan West and Gracie West, both of Hamilton: ten great grandchildren; her sister, Paula Webber Miley (Allen) of Clinton, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Scott, Bradley Scott, James Scott, Kyle Scott, Ethan West, Ralph "Preacher" Clanton, Matthew Miley, Michael Smith, and Steven Faulkner.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her Former co-workers at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point and her traveling companions.
