Kathleen Ann Garstang

December 9, 1938 - November 2, 2024

GARSTANG, Kathleen Ann Kruhm, "Kitty," 85, of Mechanicsville, VA, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2024. She was born in Takoma Park, MD. She is survived by her son, Donald Garstang Jr. (Kristi); daughter, Donna Lester (Michael); four grandchildren, Ryan Garstang (Cate), Kelsie Moore (Alex), Adam Garstang (Bell), and Rebecca Tucker; six great-grandchildren, Andrew Garstang, Montgomery Moore, Lilly Garstang, Callie Garstang, Elora Moore, and Milo Garstang; and a brother, Kenneth Kruhm (Christy).

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Richard Garstang, Sr.; her parents, Earl Kruhm and Ruth Ellen DeHaven Kruhm Urquhart; and her brother, Raymond Kruhm.

Kitty modeled Christ in all she did. She was the truest definition of a prayer warrior, leading the prayer ministry at Cool Spring Baptist Church for many years. If she knew you, you can bet she lifted you up in prayer. She loved spending time on her porch, enjoying her yard and "her" birds. But she loved her family most of all. Her legacy will continue on through each of them.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Cool Spring Baptist Church, 9283 Atlee Station Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116, with visitation immediately prior at 4 p.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cool Spring Baptist Church Missions Ministry.
