Paul E. Ruble, 45, of Decatur, IN, entered his Heavenly Home on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at his residence following an unexpected medical event while on his four-wheeler. He was born in Van Wert, OH, on September 16, 1979, son of Sam and Annette (Buuck) Ruble. On October 2, 2004, he married Lori Fruchte.
He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a member of Zion Friedheim Lutheran Church, but also attended Mass regularly with his wife and family.
Paul was a 1998 graduate of Bellmont High School where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. He received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and an Associate degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from IPFW. He then went on to receive his Master's in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. He held several engineering positions over the years and chose to become self-employed with his business, RV Farm & Trail, since 2020.
Paul was a passionate Bellmont and Purdue fan, with a special love of soccer and wrestling. Over the years, he helped coach Decatur Parks & Rec Youth Soccer League, Decatur Baseball, Decatur Wrestling Club, St. Joe Middle School volleyball, and Bellmont Middle School wrestling. He also volunteered his time for Muddy River FC. He was always quick to provide support and pep talks to any athlete. He loved attending all local sporting events whether he was watching his own family or others.
Paul enjoyed any outing with friends or family, whether it be the lake, sporting event, concert, square dancing, vacation, or four-wheeling trip. Paul was also very fond of travel, whether it was via his ambulance, Motorhomeless, pontoons, Ski Nautique, Kubota RTV, or golf cart. He always provided the most fun experience possible, making any event bigger and better. His smile had a way of brightening up the room, and his heart was as big as his personality. No one was a stranger to Paul, and he touched the lives of many. He brought many laughs with his ornery ways. He was passionate about certain topics and gave great insight, although some didn't always agree! But he did it right; he lived and loved fully. Paul was always willing to drop what he was doing to help others. He often used his engineering mind to overanalyze processes. In such, he would try to explain something mechanically or analytically, even though it was exhausting for the other person to endure!
Paul's greatest love was family. He was an extremely proud father of his 3 children and it was evident since their high school days that Lori was the love of his life. Paul is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lori, and their 3 children, Anna, Luke, and Samuel all of Decatur; his parents, Sam & Annette Ruble of Decatur; brother, Joe (Becky) Ruble of Decatur; maternal grandparents, Tom & Marvene Buuck of Decatur; his in-laws, Mark & Lynn Fruchte of Decatur, Jonathon (Megan) Fruchte of Carmel, Nikki (Nick) Ruble of Monroeville, Ryan (Jenny) Fruchte, and Andrea (Lance) Shifferly both of Decatur. He is also survived by his dear nieces and nephews, Uncle Randy, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Romey & Treva Ruble.
Let's celebrate Paul on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 1:00-7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home. Please dress casually for visitation: St. Joseph School, Bellmont, or Purdue attire is encouraged.
