Pat McNulty Obituary

McNulty, Pat
06/28/1956 - 11/12/2023

"He was born in Oklahoma. His wife's name is Betty Lou Thelma Liz." Oh wait, that was just one of the thousands of songs/tunes that made him smile. He loved music. We would chuckle that he would drive his pickup truck down Hwy 105 to have breakfast at the Cracker Barrel while listening to Beethoven's Romances or Ellington's Sacred Concerts.
He was born in Cleveland and shared an incredible ride with his twin brother, Mike. They moved to Columbus, became lifelong friends with their classmates at St. Matthias Grade school, and then moved to Colorado. He fell in love with a fellow high school classmate, Carol Liley, but it would be a dozen years before he won her heart. He would laughingly comment, "That makes me either the world's worst salesman or the world's greatest stalker." He laughed, smiled, and listened to music for the next 36 years. He always said he wouldn't trade his life for anything. He married the girl of his dreams, they have three wonderful children (who also love life and laugh) and he was able to chart his own course during his career. He worked on-the-air in Denver radio for 33 years (see: patmcnulty.com) while, concurrently, working as the voice on Channel 7 for 26 years. He left radio fulltime when his side business, Word Construction Company, took off. Pat voiced "industrials" (business videos) for DuPont, Pepsi, Microsoft, and many other major companies for more than 26 years.
Pat will be interred at the Cremation Gardens 5303 E County Line Rd. Please visit. You can sit on the big swing and see Carol's golf course, the neighborhood they have lived in for 28 years, the radio towers from Pat's last station, and one of the best views of Mt. Evans.
Pat is survived by his wife, Carol, their three children – Michael(Caroline), Emily(Vinnie), and Dan. Brothers Mike and Phil, and sister Karen. Carol's sister, Susan, and brothers Rusty and Rick. A couple of uncles and aunts and about 3,000 cousins and their kids. Irish and Italian Catholics, ya know.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 21st, at St Mary's Littleton (6853 S Prince St) Rosary at 10:15am, Mass at 11. Also livestream youtube.com/@stmarylittleton

What a shock! I wasn't ready for that news. Just hearing his name makes me smile. What a joy to work with and know. He had a style all his own on and off the air. I will really miss him. Bill Saul

The McNulty Family was a welcome addition to the Foothill Circle neighborhood back in the early 1970's. I remember well playing Pat & Mike in basketball games of Pig, Horse or just one on one's on the McNulty driveway. It did not take long for Pat and I to establish a long and entertaining friendship. I remember bike rides to Westland Mall where Pat put in multiple entries at the department store ( I think it was May D & F) and won a Panasonic Sound System. After the state-of-the-art sound system reached the McNulty basement, Pat would enlighten us with all types of music genres. Pat had an old soul and I remember Pat putting on Louis Armstrong Jazz and then he would pretend to be playing the Saxophone. When we would prowl the neighborhood Pat had a thing for doing a front flip off of different objects like rocks, walls, and swimming pools, he would always make it a dare and he always "Won" because I did not have his skills. My favorite of all times was when we competed in a youth Track & Field meet at Lakewood and we both entered the Long Jump. Pat went over 20 feet with a Front Flip of course. The crowd went WILD! Another attention-getter the McNulty Family brought to the neighborhood was when Pat & Mike began to drive, their first automobile was a Black Cadillac Hearse from the 1960's. Pat & Mike loved to take us down Colfax to different High School Student Parking areas where students would show off their Cruz machines... Of course, Pat was a Grand Master of getting laughs as he rolled down the window and waved, Pat and I remained good friends into our Adult years, and exchanging Christmas Cards was a given. I loved reading the Family updates and knowing Pat's life and family brought him tremendous Joy. Heaven will have a new form of laughter coming because Pat knows how to bring a smile and laugh to his audience. God Bless Pat McNulty......

So very sorry to hear of Pat's passing. Pat and Mike, (along with Grant, pictured in the center, circa 1977), were friends from our high school era. Along with Bob Roybal, we shared some fantastically memorable times, that we somehow managed to survive intact. Although Pat and I didn't have a lot of contact after I moved out of state in the mid 80's, we did communicate mostly via email, and his emails were always priceless. We got together with Bob for dinner and a Rockies game in 2019, a day I'll always remember. Pat was one of a kind and I'll always treasure our friendship.

In memory of a wonderful person. Pat is a true friend from St. Matthias school in Columbus, Ohio. Pat and Mike would come back for our eighth-grade reunions, and we would have a great time reminiscing. We will miss you always. Our condolences to all the Family and friends.

I landed at Entercom Denver in late 2005, and Pat was one of the first people I met in the building. An incredible sense of humor and comedic timing, he would often pitch in on commercials I was producing or parody songs and bits I was creating. Years later, every time I would post something (hopefully) funny on Facebook, I could always count on Pat to chime in with a compliment or other praise, which coming from him meant a great deal to me. My thoughts to his family and my gratitude for his being a friend when I needed one. Rest well, sir. And please give Milton Berle some comedy pointers.

Pat and Mike were and are very good friends of mine. I sure am sad at the news of his passing, but I guess God needs some good humor in Heaven too!
