Herman Nevenner Obituary

Herman Nevenner

1942 - 2024

- Herman "Herm" Nevenner

March 18, 1942 – November 26, 2024

Herman "Herm" Nevenner, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend, and coach, passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him deeply.

Herm was born on March 18, 1942, in Standardville, Utah, to Eleanor and Rudolph Rynio. He was later adopted by Elmer and Louis Nevenner, who raised him to become the extraordinary man he was. Growing up in Spring Canyon, Carbon County, Herm enjoyed a childhood filled with adventure-running, fishing, playing, and catching lizards. At Notre Dame High School, Herm excelled in athletics, earning all-state honors in football, basketball, and baseball, which fueled his lifelong passion for sports. He remained a die-hard fan of the University of Utah, the University of Notre Dame, and the New York Yankees.

During his sophomore year, Herm met Kathleen Hobbs, the love of his life. From their first dance, they were inseparable. While attending Carbon Junior College and working at Safeway, Herm and Kathleen planned their future together. On June 17, 1961, they were married, beginning a remarkable 63 years of love and partnership. They were later sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 16, 1970. Together, they raised six children who brought them endless joy: Teri (Robert), Tim (Susan), Tauni (Barry), Tami (Mike), Todd (Monica), and Tyler (Carrie).

Herm's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Justin (Julie), Samantha (Raj), Shelby, Delaney, Dakota, Zoe (Justin), Easton (Brynn), Emmie, Logan, Josh, Dallan, Ethan, Elizabeth, Katelyn, Mollie, and Christian, and his seven adorable great-grandchildren.

Herm had a deep love for coaching baseball, dedicating over 40 years to coaching at 4 Diamonds and Ken Price Ball Park in Murray. He positively impacted countless lives, sharing his knowledge and love of the game. He treasured attending Yankees games and traveling throughout the West to watch his grandsons play baseball. Herm also loved visiting the Hobbs chalet in Yellowstone, the family cabin, and traveling to Hawaii, Italy, and New Mexico. He often found joy reminiscing on drives through his childhood home of Carbon County.

The Nevenner family wishes to express their gratitude to the compassionate doctors and nurses at IMC Hospital for their loving care, especially for their kindness to Kathleen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 9th, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 3750 South Hillside Lane, Salt Lake City, UT 84109. A viewing will precede the funeral from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
