DANNY DEAN POST
DODGE CITY - Danny Dean Post, 82, died Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade.  He was born March 20, 1942 at Dodge City, the son of Willard E. and Doris M. (Barclay) Post. He was a lifetime area resident and a 1960 graduate of Meade High School as well as attending Ft. Hays State University. He farmed and did commercial cattle feeding.
He was a member of Heaven Bound Cowboy Church and the Kansas Livestock Association. He served on the Ford County Fair Board and Concord Township Board. He was born on the first day of Spring and always said he relished the first day of spring in Kansas.
On September 30, 1989 he married Sue Harman in the chapel at the First United Methodist Church in Dodge City. She survives.
Other survivors include: his children, Jackie Volz and husband Tim, Dodge City, Deanna Post and husband Michael Schweitzer, Belen, New Mexico, Damon Post and wife Mary Lou, Dodge City and Jamie Post, Meade; 6 grandchildren, Dustin Volz and wife Natalie, Brandon Volz and wife Sydney, Raegan Brown and husband Malik, Aydan Leon, Kaylon Leon and Payton Schroeder and wife Ayesha; and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Don and W. Bradley Post.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Dodge City Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jay Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fowler Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. The casket will remain closed.
