Suanna Chapman, a compassionate farmer, caregiver, and cherished member of community, passed away peacefully on September 8 2024, at the age of 93 in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on December 5, 1930, Suanna dedicated her life to her family, her work, and her faith, leaving a profound impact on all who knew her.
Suanna worked alongside her beloved husband, Cecil Chapman, whom she was married to for an inspiring 70 years. Together, they cultivated both their farm and a loving family, creating a home filled with warmth and generosity. Later in life, Suanna took on the role of caregiver, embodying her nurturing spirit as she provided support to those in need.
A devoted member of Fisherville Baptist Church, Suanna was known for her kind heart and unwavering faith. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her family, as she fostered over 200 children throughout her life, offering them a safe and loving environment during difficult times.
Suanna is survived by her grandsons, Joseph Chapman and Stephen Chapman, and her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Chapman. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil, and her son, David Chapman. The collective memories of her laughter, kindness, and nurturing spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family.
In her honor, a visitation will be held on September 17, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 12:00 PM. Suanna will then be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum in Frankfort, Kentucky, during a graveside service at 2:00 PM.
The legacy of Suanna Chapman is one of love, dedication, and compassion, and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
