Michael "Pooh Pooh" Gipson, 37, died March 20, 2024, at his home in Sikeston, Missouri. Michael was born August 11, 1986, in Sikeston, to Ruth L. Gipson and Johnny Munn.
Michael was born with Cerebral Palsy. Doctors informed the family at birth that he wouldn’t live past the age of 3 years. Michael overcame all odds and lived to be 37 years of age with a lot of love from his family. Although Michael was unable to speak or walk, he was able to communicate in other ways. Whether it was through his brown eyes or his beautiful smile, even every cry was distinguished, and he was able to make his needs known. Michael loved music and watching tv, he also loves his favorite dog, Gigi. Michael gave joy to everyone he encountered. Special thanks to “Grandma Dean” for helping, loving, and nurturing him. He is his mom’s angel.
At age 21, Michael graduated from New Dawn State School in Sikeston in 2007. He then attended Keidra’s Caring Center for 16 years.
Michael enjoyed his family to talk and sing with him. He was born with what some would call a “lucky white patch of hair.”
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wanda Dean Harris and Eugene “Brock” Harris, his aunt Makesha Gipson, and cousin Jordan Daniel.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: Ruth L. Gipson (mother) of Sikeston, Missouri; Johnny Munn (father) of Memphis, Tennessee; Donald Jones (grandfather) of Ullin, Illinois; Latifah Johnson (sister) of Sikeston, Missouri; Lewis Moore, Jr. (brother) of Sikeston, Missouri, Leo Winfield, Jr. (brother) of Sikeston, Missouri, Johnny Bland (brother) of Sikeston, Missouri, Karen Munn (sister) of Memphis, Tennessee, Sharon Munn (sister) of Memphis, Tennessee, Carl Munn (brother) of Memphis Tennessee, Fredrick Munn (brother) of Memphis, Tennessee, Ladarius Munn (brother) of Memphis, Tennessee, Devonte Munn (brother) of Memphis, Tennessee, Jasper Munn (brother) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Tina Traylor (sister) of Detroit Michigan, and Chris Munn (brother) of Detroit, Michigan, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a close friend Keidra Morris.
