Patricia Podoll Obituary

Patricia (Pat) Ruth Podoll, age 96, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion. Born on August 14, 1928, to Leland and Leona Waller of Windside, Nebraska, Pat lived a long and fulfilling life marked by dedication to her family, friends, and community.

Pat was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. She touched the lives of many with her unwavering kindness and her ability to make everyone feel special.

Pat was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pamela Podoll Ray, Leland Podoll and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Matthew Ray and wife Tiffany, Wesley Podoll and wife Michelle, Mark Ray, Lindsay Mosley and husband Jeremy, Michael Ray and wife Sierra. Her great-grandchildren are Mariah and Mason Ray, Linzy Garner and husband Addison, Brooklyn and Dylan Ray, Bryce and Kate Ray, Harmon and Charlie Mosley, Grady and Alza Podoll; great-great-grandson, James Chase Garner; sister-in-law, Shirley Waller, and brother-in-law, Tom Morrissey.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Gene Podoll; brothers, Dennis Waller, Larry Waller and wife Marlene, and sister, Sandra Waller Morrissey.

Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and she leaves behind countless cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

In addition to her family, Pat was deeply involved in her community after completing cosmetology school. She was an Air Force wife that volunteered with the Red Cross, Chamber of Commerce, in the Zion Lutheran Church, and was a member of the HCMH Auxiliary for 30 years. Pat proudly assisted her husband, Bill, for 16 years at the Fredericksburg airport, leaving a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.

Pat will be remembered for her gentle soul, her bright smile, and her unwavering faith. A memorial service was held on Sunday, Sept. 8 at Carriage Inn - Bryan, Texas to celebrate Pat's life and the incredible impact she had on the lives of others. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Acara Hospice in College Station.

Patricia Ruth Podoll will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

We have treasured memories of Pat and Bill from their time in the UK with the US Air Force (based near Cambridge) and through our Auntie Freda (Freda Fieldsend), who was a long-standing friend and pen-pal of Pat. Pat's letters to us around Christmas time were always a joy to receive, full of news and goodwill.
Our love and best wishes to all the family.

I just read about Pat´s passing. I lost touch with her a couple of years back. I am glad I got to spend the day with her in Fredericksburg . I miss her Christmas letters. We knew Pat and Bill at Travis AFB. CA. I fixed hair under her at the hospital at Travis . I Loved how sweet and full of life she was.
