Melvin Thompson, Jr.
Mr. Melvin Thompson, Jr., was born to Melvin Thompson, Sr and Roleaser Speights-Thompson on October 31, 1951, in Quincy, Melvin's earthly journey ended on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at his home in Quincy, Florida. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined Saint Mary CME Church. He was employed at the Florida State Hospital Food Service for 40 plus years. He received several outstanding performance awards.
Melvin met and married the LOVE of his life Elizabeth Lynette Williams. They were united in Holy Matrimony in a "Candlelight Ceremony" by the Late Reverend Lonnie J. Walker at St. Hebron AME Church. There marriage have stood the test of time and yet remained "EXEMPLARY"! He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Melvin's friendship speaks volumes for him. May the life he lived speak for him. Melvin served faithfully as an usher, trustee, worked on the culinary committee and sing with the Male Chorus.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted Wife; Elizabeth Lynette Williams-Thompson; Children; Felecia Thompson, Leonecia Thompson-Anderson (Carlfred); Grandchildren; Kymere Thompson, Montavious Thompson (Emon), Harrison Anderson, Madison Anderson, Carter Anderson (Deceased); Brother; James Earl Thompson and a host of other family and friends. Viewing will be from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2024 at the Mortuary. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2024 at St. Hebron AME Church, Quincy, Florida with burial at Church's Cemetery, Quincy, Florida. Services entrusted to Williams Funeral Home of Quincy, Florida.
