John F. Mohr

John Francis Mohr, 90, of Toledo, OH, formerly of Lambertville, MI, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 22, 1935, in Toledo, OH, John lived a life full of faith, dedicated to his family and community. He was the beloved husband of Jennie (Magee) for 60 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their twelve children.

John was a 1952 graduate of Toledo Central Catholic High School.

John was a Fraternal Insurance Counselor and worked for many years selling life insurance with the Gleaner Life Insurance Society, where he was known for his honesty and received the Gleaner Life Career Life Leader Award for his success and persistence. In his early career he worked at the family business, Mohr Brothers Bottling, where he performed many duties and served as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Board. He also owned Johnny Mohr's Tavern in Toledo. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as past Grand Knight and a charter member of St. Anthony Council 11430, Temperance, MI. John was also a longtime member and former Division President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

John was elected to the Bedford (MI) Public Board of Education in 1997, where he served the community for 8 years. After that, he was elected to the Bedford Township (MI) Park District, serving the community for an additional 8 years.

He will be remembered for his steady wisdom, his great sense of humor, his unwavering devotion to his family, and as a great storyteller with a genuine wit to keep the audience focused and entertained. He cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy, as well as his many friends and colleagues.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Helen Mohr; and was the last surviving sibling of his two brothers, and seven sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennie; his twelve children, Robert (Cindy) Mohr, Michelle (Steve) Bukowski, Brian (Tricia) Mohr, Karen (Tom) Geiermann, Linda (Fred) Rutter, Marty (Missy Hernandez) Mohr, Stacey (Chris) Lamprecht, Amy (Rob Fels) Mohr, Debbie (Dave Brush) Milnar, Wendy (Wendy Ungar) Mohr, Shannon Mohr, and Megan (Montana) Mohr; 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH. Visitation will continue Monday, November 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, OH, where the Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., in the church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Toledo, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Donate Online Today - Hospice of Northwest Ohio), in memory of John. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Glass Peaks Senior Living and Hospice of Northwest, Ohio for their excellent care.

John lived a life defined by love, faith, and service-a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
