Connie Jean Wiegard, 76, of Ottumwa died at 3:45 a.m. July 4, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society - Ottumwa surrounded by family.
She was born Oct. 16, 1948, in Burlington to Jack D. and Betty J. Orton Engle. Connie graduated from Burlington High School in 1967 and worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. She married Jon Michael Wiegard Oct. 24, 1969.
Connie and Jon lived in Burlington, Oelwein, Centerville and Ottumwa during his banking career. Connie enjoyed her time working at K-Mart, Montgomery Ward and Hy-Vee.
Surviving is her husband, Jon; their daughter, Shelley and son-in-law, Aron Baccam of Ottumwa; granddaughter, Jonnessa; grandson, Christian; sisters, Linda Bevis of Ankeny and Bonnie Morgan of Burlington; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack R. Engle.
Per Connie's wishes, her body has been cremated and no services are planned. Private inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington at a later date.
