Doris Ann DelGrego Seminovich, 89, of East Haven, beloved wife of 30 years to James L. Seminovich, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Loving mother of Denise (Robert) Moore of West Haven and Michael S. (Shelley Block) Troiano of Wallingford. Grandmother of Nicholas and Michael A. Sarro and Michael J. and Lyndsay Troiano. Great-grandmother of Nico and Marcello Sarro. Sister of Eleanor Carbonella of East Haven and the late Annette Cutler. Doris was born in New Haven on December 1, 1935 daughter of the late Stephen and Eva Yavecchia DelGrego. Her husband, Jimmy, was the love of her life. They enjoyed their trips to Aruba, the time spent on their boat called the Doris Ann or just having a cup of espresso together. Doris had a love for music. She was so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always got a laugh from the little ones, Nico and Marcello. Doris worked at Yale University for 30 years as a coordinator in the Sterling Memorial Library. She was a founding member of Local 34 and was a proud and strong union member of Clerical and Technical Workers at Yale University. Her friends called her Dori. Her very best friend, Amelia Prostano, stayed in close contact, corresponding with Dori even after retirement always helping her or for a laugh and keeping her up to date. Dori had many friends. A few from the library were Gloria, Shirley, Vinny, Aldo, Margit, Sharlee, Cheryl, Janet and Maureen. Doris will be truly missed by all that loved her.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven MONDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, North Haven at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call MONDAY from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to
