George Henry Vigneault (Uncle George), aged 81, passed away on September 17, 2024, in Fort Worth, TX. Born on February 8, 1943, in Barre, VT, George dedicated over two decades of his life to serving in the U.S. Army reaching the rank of Sergeant First Class, from May 7, 1962, until his retirement on July 1, 1984. His commitment to his country was unwavering and reflected his strong values and discipline.
After attending Spaulding High School, George's passion for exploration flourished in the Army. He was known for his love of travel and his exceptional skills in the kitchen, always eager to share a meal with loved ones. Above all, George cherished his family deeply and brought his mother, Phyllis, with him to duty stations all over the world, caring for her until her passing in 1989.
George is survived by his sisters, Gayl Corliss, Patricia Porier, and Lorinda DuBois, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Leo and Phyllis Elaine Vigneault; his brother, Paul Vigneault; and his sisters, Anne Sherman, Yvonne Safford, and Sandra Stobaugh.
A memorial will be held at Rosser Funeral Home, 1664 W Henderson St, Cleburne, TX 76033 at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024. George's life and service will be commemorated in a ceremony that honors his commitment to family, country, and community.
