Robert "Bob" Schubel of Greeneville died Thursday at the age of 82.
He was the son of the late Robert and Lois Schubel.
He was a graduate of Tusculum University.
He was a lifetime resident of Greeneville and a successful real estate career for many years.
He was a Presbyterian.
Bob enjoyed: hiking, biking, trains, dining out - especially, seafood; he was an animal rescue advocate. He loved coo-coo clocks, pumpkins, antiques, traveling, the Jersey shore, boating, British cars, motorcycles, and the opera. Bob's favorite day of the year, was Halloween, the day he died. Bob was outgoing and had many friends.
Bob was Past President of the Greeneville-Greene Humane Society and served on the Board of Directors for the Watauga Valley Historical Railroad Society.
Survivors include his children: Laura Salwen and her husband, James Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Rick Schubel and his fiancée, Ana Rosa Oliveria of Tampa, Florida, and Amanda Schubel and significant other, Josh Hadjopoulos of Greeneville; one sister: Martha Walker of Germany; and a special friend: Judy Carroll of Powell.
At his request, there will be no formal services or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society, or to the Watauga Valley Historical Railroad Society.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
