Shirley and I first became friends when I moved back to the 6th ward and took a teaching position at New Zion . I will always treasure our friendship that lasted for 38 years. We shared a love for teaching, sports, and Chinese food! In the past few years , we have spoken almost everyday. I learned so much about her in those conversations. She loved the Lord, her family , and Mississippi State. I’ll miss her , but I’m so thankful she is completely healed now , and enjoying the rewards of being a good and faithful servant .

She was a great teacher and person. I had her at New Zion for science. She took us to Huntsville Alabama to the Space Center and to the only hockey game I have ever been to.
I am sorry for your loss.
