James Carey Obituary

James P. Carey, 65, of the East Mountain section of Scranton, died Thursday at Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospital. His wife is the former Jill Borsheski.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late James P. Sr. and Kathleen Clarkin Carey. A graduate of Scranton Central High School, prior to his illness, he was employed by Nova Restaurant Supplies in sales. He was also a bartender for over 40 years at the Casanova Bar in South Side with many loyal patrons.

A wonderful and loving husband, Sir Poppie, brother, uncle and friend, he will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Also surviving are stepdaughter, Sarah Borsheski, Scranton; grandchildren, Aubrey, Addison and Alivia Lombardo, Jermyn; sisters, Jane Slagus and partner, Paul Morgan, Scranton; Kathy Lisowski and husband, Robert, Scranton; brother, Tom Carey, Philadelphia; several nieces and nephews including godchildren, Beth, Rob and Nick.

A celebration of James life will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton.
