Carol White Obituary

Carol A (Freeland) White 89 of Longs, SC, beloved wife of Andrew White and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, passed on to Heaven on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her 8 children, 16 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.

She was born September 4, 1934 in Hartford,CT, the daughter of the late Oliver and Sophie (Aliski) Freeland. Carol graduated from Canton High School and studied at Hartford Conservatory of Music and Caruso Vocal School of Music. She married Gerard Carney in 1954 and moved to Poughkeepsie, NY in 1964 where she raised her family. She worked many years for BOCES Special Education as a paraprofessional in NY and CREC in CT. She married Andrew White of Avon Connecticut in 1981. Formerly a resident of Clermont, Florida and recently moved back to Longs, SC.

Carol was a professional singer but chose family over career. She sang like an angel, was an amazing cook and loved to bake. She traveled Europe, the Bahamas and across the states, loved Las Vegas shows and casinos. Carol found great joy spending time with her children and grandchildren and shopping with the girls. She was a kind, generous, loving and gentle spirit who touched the heart of everyone who crossed her path.

Carol is survived by her loving husband Andy; 8 children: Brian Carney of Highland NY, his former wife Debbie Racji of Red Hook, NY; Cheryl (Carney) Pulitano and her husband Anthony of Horse Shoe, NC; Deborah (Carney) Ruggieri and her husband Paul of Calabash, NC; Keith Carney and his wife Ann (Wise) of Alexandria, VA; Linda White of Avon; Susan (White) Burgess and her husband David of Hebron, CT; Julie (White) Heard and her husband Terry of Brooks, GA; and David White and his wife Terri (Warren) of North Granby, CT; 16 Grandchildren: Shanell and her husband Tom, Tara, Nicholas and Rachael, Braiden, Anthony and his wife Suzanne, Joseph, Kenny, Kristen and her Husband Daniel, Matthew, Kate, Greg, Lexie, Owen and his wife Isa, Audrey, and Aubrey; 13 Great Grandchildren: Maddi, Angelina, Taylor, Griffin, Keira, Tyson, Cristiano, Remington, Hunter, Magnolia, Jaylynn, Angelo and Jody. She was predeceased by her Grandson, Jeremy and her precious Collie Prince.

A Mass will be Celebrated at St Patrick's Church, 50 Church St, Collinsville, CT 06019 on Saturday November 4th at 11:00am. Following the Mass she will be interred in the family plot in Historic Dyer Cemetery in Canton, CT.

To my nieces and nephews, I am grieving with you all.
My bonus sister Carol and I shared so many memories. Beginning with her singing Blue Moon at my wedding. She had the voice of an angel!
Bob and I had many visits to Myrtle Beach with you and Andy.
We had visits in Florida and holidays in Florida.

Andy We we´re so sorry to hear if Carols passing. Such a wonderful lovely lady. I have many fond memories of visiting with her.
