Robert Duffy Obituary

Robert J. "Bobby" Duffy, 63, of West Hartford, passed away September 25, 2023 in Hartford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hartford son of the late James P. and Veronica (Kelly) Duffy and lived in the West Hartford area all of his life. Bobby was a graduate of Conard High School and later attended Hartford State Technical College. He was a member of the Connecticut Laborers Union, Local 230 for 25 years. Bobby was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying boating, skiing, golfing and especially fishing. He said opening day was the "Best day of the year." He also played Men's Fastpitch Softball and enjoyed cards, particularly cribbage. Bobby was a kind and generous Irish-American Man.

Bobby will be greatly missed by his brother, James F. Duffy and his wife Mary Lou of Old Lyme and his sister, Maryellen Duffy and Romulo Lima of West Hartford and his nieces, Audra Battistini and her husband Chris, Allison Froggatt as well as his great-nieces great-nephews Mia, Ryan, Carter and Sydney. Bobby also leaves many cousins and lifelong friends, including Ken Barton, Kevin Brown, Gary Henneberry, Tom Shea and Emilio Volpe. He was predeceased by his sister Laurie Duffy, his brother Peter Duffy and his niece Shana Duffy.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. There are no calling hours. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield.
