I met Cynthia only once as a job applicant she interviewed, but I was struck by her grace, dignity and spirit. A truly elegant person.

A bright light wherever she was, so open to new ideas, such a force for goodness. Blessings to you, Jim, as you move on without her.

Working with Cynthia on the council is one of my best memories. She was tireless and very well organized. She was always an advocate for excellence and public access to rewarding programs. She was one of a kind and will be missed.

I've never forgotten Cynthia and I never will. We spent most of the 90s together, I mostly just helping her move those needles of civility, curiosity and compassion (what a wonderful and well-observed obituary)--she was one of my sturdiest Pillars. The community has lost a powerfully calm voice. What a monumental humanist, but more, human. I have shelves and shelves of memories.

Cynthia was wonderful in her capacity with Utah Humanities...and I always considered her a dedicated advocate as well as a friend. My sincere condolences to her family and closest friends.
