Harold LeFever Obituary

Harold Richard LeFever, 76, went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2025. Known to many as "Rick," he was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, on November 29, 1948, as the eldest of six children to Harold Cecil Darwin LeFever and Patricia Luella Koch. He graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1967.

In 1975, Rick married Linda Sue White, and together they raised their three children-Heather, Chad, and Tristan-over the next 20 years.

Rick worked for over 20 years at Weyerhaeuser and then for Collins Products and Jeld-Wen. Later in life, Rick followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a beloved host at Sportsman's Park in Keno, Oregon.

Rick's love for nature was a defining aspect of his life. An avid outdoorsman, he spent countless hours hunting with both bows and guns, trapping, fishing, rock hounding, metal detecting, and hunting mushrooms, particularly boletes, matsutake, and morels.

A talented craftsman, Rick not only created intricate beaded jewelry, including necklaces, earrings, and hat bands, which he sold in shops across southern Oregon, but also fabricated countless tools and gadgets to help facilitate his outdoor adventures.

He enjoyed stock car racing and dancing, often frequenting Mollie's Lounge and the American Legion, where he made many great friends and treasured memories.

Rick was known for his kind smile and friendly demeanor. He seemed to know almost everyone and anyone new wasn't a stranger for long. He had a profound way of making everyone around him feel comfortable, leaving a lasting impression of genuine joy on those lucky enough to know him.

Rick is survived by his children: Heather Baldwin and her husband Matt of Pleasanton, KS; Chad LeFever and his wife Amber of San Antonio, TX; and Tristan LeFever and his partner Amori of Portland, OR. He also leaves behind his siblings: John LeFever and wife Debbie of Klamath Falls, OR; Randy LeFever and wife Deborah of Creston, IA; Heather LeFever of Astoria, OR; Scott LeFever and wife Gina of Vancouver, WA; and Van McClain of Vancouver, WA.

Rick was a proud grandfather to Dane LeFever (and wife Liezl), Taylor LeFever (and wife Giovanna), Canon LeFever (and husband Josh), Dawson Baldwin, Braden Baldwin, Lincoln Baldwin, and Hudson Baldwin, as well as a great-grandfather to X'ian, Danica, Jayzel, Johnson, Jameson, and Jayzie.

Rick will also be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, and countless good friends, including Mark Winters, Bob Flackus, Jack Mitchell, Larry Gravelle, Nancy Coughran, and Sybil Fulk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Mickey; nephew Jamie; and close friends Linda Hitson and George Coughran.

Rick's legacy of love for family, friends, and the outdoors will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Rick's life will be held at Calvary Temple, 2161 Garden Avenue in Klamath Falls, OR on Saturday March 15th 2025 from 12:30pm-2:30pm with potluck to follow. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to: keeporegongreen.org

Sorry to hear of Richard's passing. I first met Richard when we were students at Pelican school back in the 60's. He lived on Montelius St. and I lived at the Pelican Motel . We hung out together. I have good memories of Richard. I saw him a few times over the years and enjoyed talking to him. He will be missed.
