MARILYN DARTON Obituary

MARILYN SUE SCOTT DARTON Marilyn Sue Scott Darton of Denison passed away peacefully at Cedar Hollow Rehabilitation Center on December 20th, 2024. Her last days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Marilyn was born June 12,1942 to H.M. Scott, Jr. "Buster" and Lenore Brigham Scott at The Gregg House in Denison, Tx. She was preceded in death by her parents along with many other friends and family. In early years Marilyn worked at The Pillsbury Plant and in later years worked as a Medication Aid in local nursing homes. On the early morning of a cold December day in 1964 she gave birth to her only child, daughter Nina. She spent many years caring for her grandchildren and her parents. She made sure her grandchildren had swim, dance and Karate lessons. She also enjoyed attending church at St Lukes Episcopal Church and visiting St Patrick's Catholic Church with her best friend Judy. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Nina Matthews and husband Chip who she called son, of Denison, Granddaughters Heather Crews and husband Josh of Pottsboro, Lauren Rice and husband Kaleb of Pottsboro and Grandson Aaron Matthews and wife Ally of Springfield, Mo., Great Grandchildren Nolan Crews, Wyatt Crews, Heidi Crews, Holland Rice and Jayce Matthews as well as lifelong friend Judy. All who knew Marilyn loved her and her amazing sense of humor. The family is grateful to the nursing staff at Cedar Hollow and Concord Hospice. A special thanks to Ashley with Concord Hospice who was an angel Marilyn loved dearly. Visitation will be December 26th, 2024, from 9am to 10am at Fisher Funeral Home with the service following at 10am. Hers was a life to be celebrated not a death to be mourned, her love lives on in her family. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, 604 West Main St., Denison Texas.
