The family misstated that Phil served in the military for fourteen years. It was actually seventeen years. We want to thank everyone who joined us yesterday (9-15-24) for Phil's Celebration of Life. We also thank the Stevensville American Legion Post for presenting the military honors.

I met Phil in the early 70s and had the pleasure of working with him in the 90s while living in Anchorage. Phil had an uncanny ability to read his surroundings and stay one step ahead of a situation.

I knew Phil briefly when I lived in St. Joe, MI. In 1965 I think. Phil had a white Plymouth Barracuda. One night we rode around downtown St Joe hoping to meet girls. We had no luck and around midnight Phil suggested we go to Grand Rapids. No luck there either and we ended up going into a restaurant on the main drag in Grand Rapids. We sat at a counter and ordered a cup of coffee. It was 25 cents a cup. We talked that we had never had coffee that cost that much!
I got home around 4:00 am and my dad came out of the bedroom and asked me where I was going so early in the morning. I said nowhere, I just got home.
It was a fun night and Phil was a fun guy to hang out with. Very sorry to hear of his passing.
