John Clark Obituary

John Waggoner Clark 88, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2007 in Noblesville. John is survived by his beloved Marjie; daughters, Christy Smith of Lafayette, and Dorothy Breidenbach of Indianapolis; and son, Randall Clark of Carmel. John was born in Lake Bluff, IL and attended high school there and some years at Northwestern University until called to serve in WWII. John loved the study of Lake Bluff and his early years growing up there. He also avidly pursued the study of his family genealogy. Many of these memories are chronicled in the now unfinished book, Big Kid in Lake Bluff. John enlisted in the Navy in June of 1942 and served more than four years in England and France as a part of the Office of Naval Intelligence. He was particularly proud of the role he played in the preparations for D-Day. After the war, John settled in Indianapolis and remained here for the rest of his life. He was very active for many years as a Boy Scout Troop Master. His early career included many years at Indiana Bell, and then turned to sales and sales management. He worked in sales for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance and Provident Mutual Life Insurance before joining Indiana Blue Cross and Blue Shield in sales management. John was always an entrepreneur, and owned his own diesel engine repair business for many years. He was most proud of his 2001 patent for a device that creates power from the electrolization of water. John was a member of the parish at Holy Spirit at Geist, and enjoyed many years of worship and friendship there. He was a member of the Christ Renews His Parish team. He left behind many fond memories for his six grandchildren: Katherine Smith of Arlington, VA; Sally Kay Robinson of Indianapolis; Emily Dugar of Dayton, OH; Virginia Smith of Washington, DC; Sarah Clark of Waco, TX; and Ingred Goldsberry of Indianapolis. John is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Rebecca Tiller, Chelseakay Robinson, Anna Robinson, Raechel Marcroft, and Elizabeth Dugar. Friends and family will gather Friday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to Noon with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Noon in the Holy Spirit Parish at Geist, 10350 N. Glaser Way, Fishers, IN 46037. John will be laid to rest in the Oaklawn Cemetery, with a luncheon immediately following in the parish center. Arrangements entrusted to the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel. You are invited to visit www.leppertmortuary.com, where you may leave a personal message, sign his online register, or make a memorial contribution to the Dayspring Center, 1537 N.
