Jacob Manders Obituary

My heart goes out to the Manders family during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Jacob was the core of our Mechanical Engineering class of 2023. Bringing smiles to our faces in each class, lab, and project. My deepest sympathies and condolences to his family, he was a special individual and I feel very privileged to have shared time with him. Sending my love.

He was the heart, mind, and soul of the Pratt Class of 2023. Everyone knew him as authentic and rightfully so. I never met a more talented and kind-hearted person than Jacob. Many of us first met him in Dynamics class and we could all tell he was special and would have great future potential.
Hearing this tragic news deeply saddens me and my sincerest condolences go to all his family, friends, and loved ones. He will be deeply missed by all of his peers.

I remember first meeting Jacob before dynamics class during our sophomore year at Duke. It was the first class we had together, and I was immediately struck by how genuine he was. He had just transferred to Duke and I could instantly tell he was one of the smartest and kindest people I ever had the pleasure of meeting. It's so shocking and saddening that he's no longer with us and I wish I could have told him one more time how much I admired him.
