Richard Birt Obituary

Richard L. Birt, age 78 of Ansonia, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at his home.

He was born on March 9, 1946 in Greenville to the late Don and Wavelene (Anderson) Birt.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his twin granddaughters, Dinah and Loni Birt; sister, Carolyn Burk; and in-laws, George and Dorothy Boerger.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diane Birt; son, Bryan (Jeannie Slyder) Birt; daughter, Julie (Dr. Steven) Hart; sister, Wanda Young; brothers, Terry (Neva) Birt and Jim (Jan) Wight; and grandchildren, Alexis Birt (Issac Charles), Mitchell Birt, Chase Hart, and Samantha Hart.

Richard graduated from Ansonia High School in 1964. After graduation, he joined the United States Army where he served from December of 1965 to November of 1967. He worked for 40 years as a spray painter at Union City Body Company. Richard belonged to the Ansonia American Legion and the Greenville VFW. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns as well as NASCAR. Richard also loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

No services will be held.
