Karen Shriver Obituary

Karen June (Bolton) Shriver, 82, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away July 13, 2024 in Union Care Center in Union, Missouri.

Karen born August 18, 1941 in Kirksville, Missouri, was the beloved daughter of John and Lola Bolton. A proud member of the Kirksville High School Class of 1959, Karen pursued higher education and earned a degree in Physiology from Truman State University in 1981.

Karen married the love of her life, Ronald Shriver, and they spent the last 40 years together in a marriage filled with adventure, love, and mutual respect. An adventurous spirit, Karen cherished traveling with her husband, Ronald, and her dear friend DeNita, living life to the fullest. Her tender, kind heart touched the lives of everyone she met. A devoted Christian, Karen's unwavering faith was central to her life, and she was deeply loved by her family and friends.

Karen is survived by her husband, Ronald Shriver of Lonedell, MO; her stepson, Lloyd Shriver of Millard, MO; her sister, Janice Meneely of Kirksville, MO; her niece, Leslie Meneely of Kirksville, MO; her nephew, Dr. Timothy Meneely and his wife, Dr. Valerie, of Danville, IL; her nephew, Chris Meneely of Council Bluffs, IA; her nephew, Nathan Meneely, and his wife Cathy, of Kirksville, MO; two cousins, Judith Wright of Kansas City, MO, and Jeanette Lucero and family of Alamosa, CO; and many great-nieces and great nephews.

Karen will be remembered for her adventurous soul, her kind heart, and her unwavering faith.

Karen has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Larry Gibson officiating. Family will receive friends for one hour before the service.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri.
