Clara Miller Obituary

Clara Lipford Miller, known affectionately as Momma Claire, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, at the age of 86. Born in Leoma, Tennessee on April 20, 1938, Clara resided in Humboldt, Tennessee, where she left an indelible mark on the community and her family. Clara loved gardening, and her flowers, she loved quilting, fishing, watching movies, and singing with the choir at Liberty Hall Full Gospel Church where she attended. She loved her children and grandbabies more than imaginable and she was always trying to help people in any way she could. She had a such a huge heart and anyone who knew her loved her. Clara retired from 5-M apparel in Trenton, TN as a master seamstress. Beyond her personal and professional achievements, what mattered most in Clara's life was her freedom to worship God and to spend time with family. It was the words of Proverbs 31:25 that described her best, "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future."
Clara was preceded in death by her husbands, L.C. Lipford and Merl Miller; her children, Arvie Lipford and Wanda Teaster; and her siblings, Bud McDow, Haron McDow, J.C. McDow, Maxine Jackson, Mazie Benefield. Her memory will continue to be cherished by her children, Sandra (Roger) Powell, Anthony Lipford, and Randy Lipford; her brother, James McDow Jr.; her grandchildren, Dr. Eric Lipford, Lindsey (Marcos) Camacho, Jenny (John) Dameron, Haley Lipford, Amanda (Josh) Fisher, Derek Newman, April (Jimmy) Shebesh, Cassie (Joey) Perry, and Krystle (Justin) Moore; and her great-grandchildren, Ellis, Lawson, Rex, Liam, Tiffany, Maria, Eli, Wesley, Jeremiah, Isiah, Josie, Bailey, Andrew, Kylee, Dax, and Krystin. Clara is also survived by the family of her late husband, Merl Miller.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Ronk Funeral Home, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 11:00am, officiated by Walter Manley, Joey Blankenship, and Spencer Ricketts. Committal services will follow at 2:00pm at Rose Hill Church Cemetery, Limon Gage road, Bethel Springs, Tennessee, 38315.
Pallbearers for the service will be Derek Newman, Jimmy Shebesh, Justin Moore, Josh Fisher, Steven French, Joey Perry, and Matt Pritchard. Honorary Pallbearer is Dr. Eric Lipford.
The family invites all who loved Clara to share memories and upload photos to her memorial page. In the words of Clara herself, "Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. But love remains." (1 Corinthians 13:8). Clara's love remains in all who knew her.
