Nicholas Vasiloff Obituary

Dr. Nicholas "Nick" Vasiloff passed away November 3, 2023 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital of Covid with his devoted wife, Pamela, by his side. Born to Geno & Helen Vasiloff of Bulgarian descent, in Niagara Falls, Canada, he attended Western University Medical School. After getting his M.D. degree, he moved to Los Angeles, practicing general medicine in Pasadena for a few years. He then took an anesthesia residency at UCLA and subsequently became part of the anesthesia staff at St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica. When the 1994 earthquake temporarily closed St. Johns he moved to Santa Barbara and did anesthesia at various hospitals in the area until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Pamela, and they settled down in a beautiful home in Santa Barbara. With his engaging spirit, feisty wit and personality he was well liked and popular with everyone. His patients appreciated his dedicated work ethic. He had many interests and was active in the community, co-producing in Hollywood, the movie cult thriller, "The Incredible Two Headed Transplant." He was also a co-owner of a race horse and was very successful with it winning at various tracks in the west. He also was the Olympic Team Physician when the Americans went to Australia for the Olympics. He was predeceased by his parents and his two sisters, Marjorie and Madeline. A beautiful person has left us but we will always have wonderful memories.
