LAURINBURG — William "Bill" Walter Ingle Sr., passed away peacefully on Oct. 30, 2024, at the age of 75, at Morrison Manor.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Neill D. McKay and Rev. Howard Whitehurst. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall after the service.
Born on Jan. 12, 1949, in Wake County, he was the son of the late John Ingle and Laura Louise Vickers Ingle.
Bill dedicated over 30 years to a fulfilling career in management with the Social Security Administration. He was an extremely active and helpful at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church. An avid outdoorsman, Bill found solace and excitement in the beauty of nature. Whether he was hiking with his loyal dog, Peggy, camping under the stars, casting a line into a serene lake, or simply enjoying a good book, Bill embraced each day with a sense of adventure. His love for the mountains and the tranquil surroundings of Cheraw State Park were an inspiration for him, especially in his later years.
Bill is survived by his children, Walter Ingle (Bethany) of Kentucky, Susan Mills (Artie) of San Antonio, TX and Chrissie Koroivui (Mesu) of Durham; his grandchildren, Reagan, Emma, Jacob, Chloe, Diama, Sereani and Mesu. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Susanna Newton Ingle; his grandchild, Ethan, and his siblings, Jack Ingle and Pat Wilson.
