Richard DeCesare Obituary

LEOMINSTER - Richard A. DeCesare, 92, passed away at UMass Worcester on April 5, 2024. Richard was born in Clinton, MA the son of the late Angelo and Lillian (Scanlon) DeCesare on July 22, 1931. He was a graduate of Clinton High School and obtained his undergraduate degree from Holy Cross College and graduate degrees from Boston College, M.A., Ph.D. Before coming to Fitchburg State College he taught in the Marlboro and Framingham School systems; he also taught in the Graduate Division at Salem State College. While at Fitchburg State College he was the Chairman of the Humanities Department and Professor of Philosophy. Richard had memberships with The American Philosophical Society, The Classical Association of New England, Metaphysical Society of America, Massachusetts State College Association, Holy Cross and Boston Alumni Associations and the Leominster Lodge of Elks. The Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg is assisting the family.
