Allen Wood Obituary

Benson, NC:  Mr. Allen Ray Wood, age 76, of 86 Allen Wood Lane died Sunday, May 5, 2019 at his residence.  Funeral Services will be 3:00PM -Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church, Benson.  Rev. Joe Brown will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.               Mr. Wood was born on November 30, 1942 in Harnett  County to the late Othel Wood and Vestal Lee Jernigan. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Ray Wood, granddaughter, Victoria Grace Wood, sister, Linda Faye Swinyer and a brother, Tommy Sherrill Wood. Mr. Wood was an electrician and owned and operated Allen R. Wood Electric Company for 38 years. He was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church and served in the National Guard.                 Surviving include his wife of 55 years, Sandra McLamb Wood; son, Timothy Allen Wood and wife, Christy of Benson; daughter-in-law, Gina Wood of Texas; grandchildren, Sandra Elizabeth Wood, Allen Paul Wood, Taylor Michelle Wood, Abagail Reese Wood, Lily Haven Wood and Brenna Rae Wood; sister, Wanda Barefoot and husband, Glenn of Benson; brothers, Johnny Jernigan and wife, Robin and Jerry Jernigan and wife, Kim all of Benson; many loving nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.                 Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, Help Fight RA 8815 Conroy Windermere Rd.
