Barbara Bailey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 21, 2024.
Barbara Nancy Bailey, 67, passed away on August 6, 2024, in Fresno, CA, the city where she was born on November 26, 1956. Barbara was a beloved figure in her community, known for her supportive and kind nature. She was an accomplished practitioner in the fiber arts, with a passion for wool dyeing, spinning, knitting, and weaving.

Barbara's professional journey was marked by her varied interests and skills. After studying architecture and dress design, she pursued a career in law, specializing in contract law. She worked for prominent companies including Texaco, Bechtel, and Genentech, where she led the contracts group in the legal department until she became disabled in 2009 due to multiple back surgeries.

Beyond her professional life, Barbara was deeply involved in community service. She was an active member of the Fresno Audubon Society's board, where she played a crucial role in the organization's turnaround by introducing many beneficial processes. Barbara was also a vocal advocate for animal rights, particularly concerning the policy on feral cats in Fresno County.

Barbara's family and friends deeply feel her loss. She is survived by her husband, Robert Snow; step-children, Matthew Alan Snow and Rebecca Ann Snow; and sisters, Janet Bailey, Susan Revis, and Allison Giannini.
