Bobby Boggs Obituary

Bobby Ray Boggs (90) of Vallejo, CA, passed away on December 1, 2023. Bobby was born on August 28, 1933, in Wister, Oklahoma, to Sylvia and Melbourne "Doc" Boggs.

Bobby proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957. While stationed at Travis Air Force base, Bobby and his wife Lois settled into Vallejo where they raised their family. After serving in the military, Bobby pursued a career as a land surveyor at Edward P. Schwafel Engineering. He dedicated his skills and expertise to the company for 34 years until his retirement in 1991.

In his personal life, Bobby found love twice. He is survived by his second wife, Marylyn Boggs. Bobby leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Doreen) Boggs, Kevin (Debbie) Boggs, and Timothy (Kristina) Boggs. He was also a proud grandfather to Bryan (Rondalyn) Boggs, Sarah (Warren) Spohn, Brandon (Victoria) Boggs, Breanne Boggs, and Cooper Boggs, Merideth Keenan-Boggs. Bobby's great-grandchildren, Everett, Addison, Elliott, and Colton Boggs brought him immense joy. He also had several stepchildren, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren from the Lindsey family who he treated as his own. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Francis Boggs (stepmother), Lois Boggs (wife), Mitchell Boggs (son), Aaron Boggs (grandson).

Bobby was a proud and humble individual. He was known for his athleticism, particularly in track and football. He still holds records at Desert Hot Springs High School in Southern California. Bobby generously shared his knowledge and love for sports as a volunteer at Vallejo Little League and Vallejo Babe Ruth, where he supported his four boys as a coach and board member for many years.

Bobby had a passion for mechanics. He was a serious backyard mechanic and a self-taught auto mechanic, which allowed him to race cars as a young adult. He was also a skilled carpenter who could fix just about anything. "Pops" would often be found under the hood of a car or up on the roof of a house helping his family and friends whenever needed. Additionally, Bobby enjoyed annual hunting trips to Colorado and Utah, which started with his group of friends and continued with his boys for many years.

Bobby's military service and dedication were honorable, and his passion for serving others extended beyond his time in the Air Force. He was a devoted member of his community and will be remembered for his selflessness and commitment.

A ceremony to celebrate Bobby's life will be held on January 8, 2024, at 1:30 PM at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville, CA, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.

Bobby Ray Boggs will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
