Charles Ray Thurman, born January 28, 1965 to Ray and Judy Thurman. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Judy; grandparents Ivins and Lenora Martin, Newell and Ella Coleman, and stepdaughter Crystal Ogle and mother-in-law Patricia Womac.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Penny Thurman; children: Jessica (Chris) Campbell, Jeffrey Thurman, and Rusty (Jessica) Thurman; grandchildren: Carrie Ann Willis, Madyson Thurman, and Lilly Campbell; brother Terry Thurman and wife Dana; bonus brother Sammy Duncan; bonus sister Lisa Duncan Miller; brother in laws Junior Gaskill (Bambi), Anthony Gaskill (Brandy), and Tracy Bernatti (John). In addition to these he leaves behind to cherish his memory numerous nieces, nephews, and best friends Jeff Beshears, Tim Crowden, Ralph Davis, and Jerry Nichols. He also leaves behind numerous several cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family and friends.
Charles family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm on Sunday May 6th at Tree of Life Ministries located at 240 Eisenhower Street, Cleveland, TN 37311. They will also receive friends from 1pm until 2pm on Monday May 7th at the church prior to the service at 2pm. Pastor Shane Pierce and Pastor Tim Crowden will be officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at Mars Hill Cemetery in Englewood, TN with Sammy Duncan, James Truelove, Mark Wilcox, Dustin hall, Porky Davis, and Jerry Branam, Junior Gaskill, and Anthony Gaskill serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Beshears, Ralph Davis, Jerry Nichols, and martin's Amoco Softball Team and Our Gang Softball Team.
