Paul Roy Damberg, 59, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on February 21, 2025, after a long illness.

Born on March 16, 1965, to John Paul and Virginia "Gina" Damberg, Paul grew up in Eveleth, Minnesota. He graduated from Eveleth High School in 1983 and earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Organizational Management from Macalester College in 1987.

Paul's career began in broadcasting and development management at KAXE in Grand Rapids. He then served as Director of Development at KUMD in Duluth for twenty years. Transitioning to fundraising, Paul became Executive Director for the Lake Superior College Foundation and later the Foundation Director at the Human Development Center. In 2016, he returned to broadcasting as the Northern Regional Manager for Wisconsin Public Radio on the UW-Superior campus, retiring in 2024 due to health issues.

His expertise was instrumental in developing WTIP North Shore Radio, and he was the founding Board President and a member of the Public Radio Association of Development Officers (PRADO). Paul's dedication extended to public radio, higher education, Rotary International (Harbortown & Superior), Boy Scouts of America, and numerous community organizations throughout Northern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Damberg, and Ben's mother, Lynn Brascugli.

He is survived by his wife, Nanci (Lund); son, Benjamin (Geri); brother, Bill (Deb); sister, Kate; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A celebration of Paul's life will be on April 13, 12-4 at Pike Lake Golf & Beach Club, 4895 Midway Road, Duluth.

Paul's warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his community have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
