Daryl Howard Obituary

Daryl Blayne Howard (85) of Charlotte, NC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Born in Mooresville, NC to Roy B Howard and Zola (Pat) Helms Howard on September 15, 1938, Daryl graduated from Mooresville High School. Upon graduating, he proudly served his country in the US Navy for four years.

Daryl was a member of the first graduating class of Charlotte College (now UNCC) in 1967, Daryl was employed by Dunbar Stanley where he met his future bride, Mattie Buchanan. He was a member of the original founders of Picture Company of America International. He traveled extensively overseas and created many relationships that still exist today.

Daryl loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He studied the Bible daily. He especially enjoyed his Bible Buddy clubs. He had a very giving personality and was always seeking opportunities to lend assistance whenever and wherever possible. Daryl loved and was loved. Daryl enjoyed vintage cars, racing and woodworking.

Daryl is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mattie Buchanan Howard; sisters Faye McConnell and Judy Nance, sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law and other relatives.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 30 2024 at 10am at Calvary Church chapel located at 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road. Dr. John H. Munro will officiate the funeral service starting at 11am followed by burial with US Navy Funeral honors rendered graveside at Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
