Eleanor Meilinger Obituary

Eleanor Meilinger (nee Alaimo) of Lakeville PA, fromerly of the Bronx, NY, died on Saturday November 25, 2023 after a short battle with a rare brain disease. Eleanor was 63 years old. She is survived by her husband Michael Meilinger and her daughters Amanda Butler and Melanie Meilinger. Eleanor is also survived by her siblings Christopher Alaimo, Mary-Cay Altmiller, Richard Alaimo and Michelle Hussey along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents Charles Alaimo and Eleanor Alaimo.

Eleanor was born and raised in New York City and graduated in 1978 from St. Catherine's Academy in the Bronx. She spent much of her working career in the restaurant industry which she loved. After being married, she settled in Stroudsburg PA, her husband's home state, and later retired to Lakeville PA.

Eleanor was a free spirited soul with a flare for cooking. She loved the arts, theater and music. She was a talented writer and and avid book lover. She loved and took care of all those around her. She was a dedicated and loving, wife, mother, sister and aunt. She had an infectious smile and laugh that will be missed by all.

Cremation is under the care of the Miller Bean Funeral Home in Scratnton PA. Private memorials to be announced at a later time.
