To one of the best guys I ever met. Be at peace, Howard. You served your country well. It was a honor to be considered one of your "other" daughters.

May your hearts continually be filled with joyful memories and the wonderful times you shared with your loved one. May the God of all comfort be with you and your family during this time.

I enjoyed walking our dogs Snickers and Shilo with Howard. We also exchanged information about some of his flight missions and some of my time as a U.S. Army Medic in West Germany during the Cold War in 1960's. I was so honored for him to share some of his adventures. Fly high Howard into eternity. We miss you for sure. God bless his widow Lauri too. Another honorable Vetetan.

Howie always had a smile and friendly manner. We will miss him. We never got to spend as much time with him and Laurie as we wanted. Enjoyed seeing them when we could. Rest in Peace Howie.

Howard and Laurie were the first people we met in QC. As we were scoping out our soon to be ours lot, they came out in the back to greet us. We knew then we had picked the right lot. Howard was a total delight, and we miss him terribly. Go Navy! Walt and Billie

Howard and Laurie shared backyard access with Carol and I for years. With no wall to separate our properties we shared a common frustration with the javelina that used our yards as a thoroughfare from one golf course to another. He and I often debated the issues of the day, rarely coming up with a good solution, but enjoying the chance to exchange ideas. He had one of those positive personalities that was infectious. Carol and I will miss not having the chance to share more moments with him. Also, it would be remiss of me not to mention Howard loved his sweets.

Howie and I shared birthdays - mine 15 Jan his 2 Feb and we had a couple of great parties together. It was fun comparing notes on our flying careers in which I flew bombers and he fighters. I envied him that. He had a great sense of humor, and we had a lot of laughs. I have a flag display on my dresser. The Air Force flag on one side of Old Glory and in Howie's honor, a Navy flag on the other side. When I see it, I think of him.

Waaay to many memories! I´ve taken a lot of photos over the years of him and me, him and our little scotch drinkers on those warm summer and autumn evenings. He´d bring a bottle over or share what we had. I just recall his `two finger´ limit Laurie allowed him (most the time) but it was two fingers from the top instead of the bottom. Then we´d add ice... he loved sweets! We always had sweets for him (and me of course) and we became more than friends in our short time together. We became family. That was his nature. I´m sure he wasn´t the easiest guy to get along with in his younger years since he always shared his thoughts (without too many filters! lol).
He loved ice cream and I have that photo (somewhere) but I couldn´t find it. Here are some I did take with our adopted family father!

Howie and Laurie lived across the street from my husband Martin and myself for several years. Martin enjoyed hosting scotch nights with Howie and the guys. A fun time was had by all.
Howie was my dad after my own dad passed in 2021 and he took the role on with a smile on his face. He was five months younger than my dad and was very proud of the fact.
There are so many things we will miss regarding Howie, having him show up to deliver us Krispy Kream donuts, his favorites, coming to enjoy scotch on the back patio, nuking our weeds with his flame thrower (HAHAHA), seeing him walk down the street with any one or other of his little furry friends, meeting up with he and Laurie at our unit no work parties. It was at the last no work party that i saw him last, when on my way out the door to walk across the street from Moe and Martha´s that he stopped me to say that he remembered our first meeting, giving me a big hug, and saying what would be our last goodbye. I will carry all these memories and more in my heart. Until we meet again Pops, sleep well.
With much love, your adopted daughter, Jill
