Janice Plumb Obituary

Janice "Jan" Haier Plumb, aged 92, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, in Arden Hills, Minnesota, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 7, 1932, Jan was the only child of William and Lillian Haier. Following her father's passing in 1944 during his service with the Civil Air Patrol in World War II, she became the stepdaughter of Arthur Gustafson. Her father's sacrifice was later honored with a Congressional Gold Medal, which Jan proudly accepted on his behalf.

Jan is survived by her children: Chip and his wife Mary Kay Conlon; Scott; and Denine and her husband Todd Olson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Plumb, who passed away in 1994 at the age of 61.

A lifelong Minnesotan, Jan graduated from Edison High School before earning her degree from the University of Minnesota. Together with Charlie, she co-founded CSP Delivery, a business they built with dedication and hard work. After Charlie's passing, Jan continued to run the company as sole proprietor well into her seventies before eventually selling it and embracing retirement.

In retirement, Jan found joy in travel, bible study, time spent with friends and family, and indulging in her lifelong passion for sewing. She made her home within the Presbyterian Homes senior community-first at the SummerHouse of Shoreview and later at Johanna Shores in Arden Hills-where she lived out her final years surrounded by warmth and care.

We will always remember her never ending love of life, easy laugh and joyful connection with all who knew her.

Memorial services will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Shoreview, MN at 11:00 am on Friday May 9, 2025. Doors will open at 10:00 am for visitation. If you are unable to attend the service in person, you can view a livestream of the service using this link:
