Jessica Nicole Oswald, 51, of Batesburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Born in Columbia, SC, on June 13, 1974, she was the daughter of Phyllis Craps Douglas, and Marvin Oswald. Jessica lived a life full of love, creativity, and dedication. A talented Loan Administrator, Jessica was known for her attention to detail and commitment to her work. Outside of her professional life, she loved crafting, painting sunflowers, and making tumblers, bringing joy and beauty to those around her with her artistic talents.
Jessica is survived by her loving parents, Marvin Oswald (Pam) and Phyllis Douglas (Randy); her brother, Daryl Oswald; sister, Crystal Oswald Miles (Chad); along with cherished nieces, Laci Oswald and McKenzie Miles; and a nephew, Brandon Miles. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Astro. Jessica was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lewis Oswald, Mary Whiteside, Drayton and Alden Craps.
A funeral service to honor Jessica's life will be held at 4 o'clock on Sunday, August 10th at St. James Lutheran Church-Summit with Rev. Johnny Baker and Rev. Jim Glander officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will Jon-Eric Taulbee, Stacy Woods, Jeffery and John Craps, Brandon and Chad Miles. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Jessica are invited to pay their respects during a visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 3 o'clock in the church sanctuary.
Jessica's warmth, kindness, and creative spirit will long be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we gather to celebrate her life, we are comforted by the legacy of love and the countless memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed.
