Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 1, 2024.
John Chester Mudek, a respected business owner and a pillar of strength, passed away on September 27, 2024.

John was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with an indomitable spirit. John's life was marked by his entrepreneurial ventures and deep personal relationships. He was the founder of Mudek Trucking and the J&J Recycling Center, innovative businesses that reflected his strong will and dedication. After the untimely passing of his son, John David Mudek, their legacy in the business world continues through his grandson, Brandon Mudek.

Known for his relentless work ethic, John was always seen in his signature blue Dickies, ready to tackle any challenge. His passion extended beyond his business; His love for restaurants rivaled most in the twin cities. Lindey's Steak house, Manny's, Ruth Chris, Mancini's Char House, and Stuart Anderson Cattle Company to name a few. He cherished his lake home in Northern Minnesota, where he spent peaceful times with his giant Cane Corso dogs, Conan and Bruno. An avid outdoorsman, John relished fly-in fishing trips in Canada, embracing the tranquility of nature.

John's personal life was enriched by his loving family and his high school sweetheart, Julia, whom he married and with whom he shared numerous global adventures. His knowledge of the Bible was profound, and he enjoyed engaging in spirited debates about God and conservative views with friends and family.

Throughout his career, John also made notable achievements, including meeting President Ronald Reagan twice. He started as a line mechanic at Buckingham Trucking and later became the owner of three franchise restaurants before founding his trucking and recycling business.

John is survived by his daughters, Marie, Patty, and Peggy; his brothers, Tony and Chester Mudek; and his sister, Marge Mudek, Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents John P. Mudek and Margaret Mudek(Dyczkowski); his wife, Julia Mudek; brother, Robert Mudek and his son, John David Mudek.

Contributions in memory of John Chester Mudek can be made to the Ronald Reagan Ranch, honoring his admiration for the former president and the principles he stood for. John's life and legacy will remain a guiding light to all who knew him.
