Kelly Drumm Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 28, 2024.
Kelly Lawrence Drumm, age 57, of Chicago, IL. Beloved son of Eileen Mae Drumm nee Henneman and the late Edward James Drumm. Survived by his wife and mother of his children, Phyllis Drumm nee Tope. Loving father of Jack, Max, and Grace Drumm. Loving brother of Mary (Gary) Purk and Carol (Dan) Desmond. Proud uncle to Clara, Anna, Connor, and Michael Purk; Nick and Joey Desmond. Cousin and longtime friend to many. It is with great sadness that the family announces Kelly's passing. Kelly enjoyed life to the fullest and made friends easily. He created lifelong friendships throughout his life and remained very close to his grade school, high school and college friends. Kelly was an avid swimmer from a young age. He started his love for swimming at Michigan Shores and continued onto a state winning swim team at ETHS. He swam at ASU and was also on the water polo team. After college, he married his college sweetheart, Phyllis. In Kelly's early business career, he was mentored by his father and mother to assume the CEO role of the family sales promotion company. Kelly grew the business to new heights and provided employment to many. Kelly loved to attend sporting events and one of the highlights was watching the Cubs win the World Series in Cleveland. Kelly was very proud of his 3 children and loved spending time with them on the slopes or on a beach. He attended many soccer and baseball games. In his later life, he split his time between the two cities he loved: Chicago and Scottsdale. One of his favorite pastimes was to climb Camelback mountain. Although there were many challenges placed before him on his life long journey, his family is comforted that he no longer needs to wrestle with these choices. Kelly will be remembered and greatly missed by many. Visitation Friday, November 1, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Donnellan Family Funeral Services, 10045 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, IL 60077.
