As Assistant Plant Controller of the Palmerton operation of the New Jersey Zinc Company, I had been unsuccessful in convincing my superior of the need for a department secretary (the Personnel Department had 3). When the headquarters of NJZ was to move from Bethlehem to Nashville (in the 1970's), the Corporate Controller strongly (and successfully) suggested we hire his secretary, Lucille. She brought much sunshine to the department, and was very competent and efficient.

I worked with Lucille at D&B. She was always cheerful and fun to work with. I have so many wonderful memories of her.

Dear Dick and family, Lucille was a good friend and classmate of mine and I will never forget the walks home from school each and everyday. We also shared many luncheons together on several occasions. She was a special person. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you at this sad time. Lynn Fonte Smith
