Martha Jean (Dyer) Foster, age 82, of Milton, GA, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, after a period of declining health. She was born on Easter Sunday, April 13, 1941, to the late Eugene Conley and Hollie Sue (Cain) Dyer. Jean worked for many years as a registered nurse at the Forsyth County Hospital and for many years as a nurse for Dr. Fred and Dr. Barbara Boling.
She is preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Carolyn Jane Dyer; nephew, Eddie Croy; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Edith Foster; sisters-in-law, Faynette Berryman and Nancy Foster; and brother-in-law, Ed Croy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Miller Foster; son, Barry (Michelle) Foster; daughter, Kim Foster; granddaughters, Jordan (Josh) Newberry, and Callie Foster; 5 great grandchildren, Kennedi, Noah, Piper, Owen and Knox Newberry; sister, Jan (David) Robinson; brother, Marcus (Reba) Dyer; sister, Joyce Croy; and brother-in-law, Carter Foster; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Her Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Ophir Baptist Church in Cumming, GA with Rev. Nicky Gravitt, and Rev. Josh Newberry officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ophir Baptist Church Cemetery Fund C/O Michael Avery, 3090 Trinity Church Road, Canton, GA 30115.
