Myron Kantor 1940 - 2024

Myron Kantor 84, of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, passed away peacefully October 29, 2024. He spent his early years in Sioux City, Iowa, son of the late Edward and Mary (nee Kaplan) Kantor and brother of the late Stanley (Audrey) Kantor.

Myron is survived by his beloved companion and wife of 35 years Carol (nee Hunt) Majer-Kantor. He was the devoted and loving father of Philip (Susan) Kantor and Abby Agnew and stepfather of Paul (Beth) Majer and Lee (Cathy) Majer. Eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren knew him as their loving grandpa.

For 59 years, Myron was a dedicated estate planning, business, and tax attorney. He co-founded the law firm Kantor & Apter Ltd. in 1974 (later known as Kantor Apter & Esposito Ltd.) and co-founded Trostin Kantor & Esposito LLC in 2023. He leaves behind many treasured and close clients across generations.

When not working, Myron had numerous joyous pursuits. He was an accomplished pianist who could play for hours. For many years, he and his three cycling buddies took trips that collectively crossed the United States and parts of Europe. Closer to home, he and Carol could be found riding tandem around the neighborhood. Over the years, Myron and Carol spent Wednesday nights at the Chevy Chase Country Club ballroom dancing to the big bands along with their group of fellow dancing friends. A creative cook, Myron would frequently amaze family and friends with his meal creations. Always a voracious reader, Myron enjoyed mysteries, especially those involving legal issues. And, as the grandchildren came along, Myron introduced them to the joys of fishing at the local pond.
