Opal H. Payne, age 89, of Spring Hill, TN passed away April 29, 2024. She was born in Morgan County, KY to the late William Preston and Ola Belle Harper Vest. She married Fred W. Payne in Liberty, Indiana in 1955.
Opal is survived by her husband of 68 years, Fred W. Payne; daughters, Carla Nichols and Dana (Bill) Larason; grandchildren, Miranda (Royal), Brad (Chrissy), Samantha (Jeff), Emily, Joseph (Tia) and Ethan (Raygan); great grandchildren, Jillianne, Jackson, Olivia, Ophelia, Lily and Charlotte Opal; brother, Clyde; and sisters, Wanda, Pearl, Jan, Charlotte and Joan.
Opal had a servant’s heart, always caring for and prioritizing others. Opal loved to cook and her door was always open to anyone. She was a wonderful gardener and bird lover. She was the pillar of the family and will be truly missed by all.
